Weight loss requires diligence and sacrifice. Here is how I lost 25lbs (multiple times).

I set a specific goal with a timeline. I’ve competed in eight bodybuilding competitions, and for three competitions I had to lose 20+ pounds. For a 20lb weight-loss goal I gave myself a 20 week timeline, it was a long diet phase, but most realistic.
I spoke about my goals with conviction. If I didn’t sound serious about my goals, no one took me seriously, including myself. My weight-loss goal was my top priority.
I made sacrifices. I said no to dining-out, happy hour, birthday cake, and more. Going into a diet phase I knew I would have to say no more than I could yes. I didn’t use holidays or gatherings as an excuse to go “off-plan”.

I hired a nutrition coach for guidance. I wanted someone (educated in the field) to tell me what to do— so my only responsibility was to follow through. There was also added motivation when I was paying for that service.
I averaged 10,000 steps per day. I consistently lifted weights 3-5 days per week and did cardio to burn extra calories. Cardio was done in addition to 10,000 steps per day. My most utilized forms of cardio were: sprints, elliptical, walking, jump rope, stair-master.
I tracked my food daily. I knew exactly how much food was going into my body. Nutrition is a huge part of weight loss, and when my coach expected me to be eating 1,700 calories a day and 150 grams of protein I did just that! I got my results by doing what I was supposed to.
